Digital Humanities Centre at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences was founded in October 2013 out of conviction that it is crucial that researchers integrate traditional humanities approaches into the digital culture. The Centre coordinates digital activities cross-cutting research, documentation, editorial and administrative areas.
Research Areas:
- Open Science for the humanities and social sciences
- Databases for literary scholarship - bibliographical, biographical and lexicographical projects, such as the Polish Literary Bibliography, the 16th-Century Polish Language Dictionary, The Bar Bibliography [Bibliografia Bara]
- Digital repositories and resources (the Digital Repository of Scientific Institutes, the IBL PAN Repository, the IBL PAN Library)
- Digital scholarly editing - developing tools and IT resources that provide stable access to digital publications
- Research on digital literary culture and new forms of literary production (studies on multimedia literary production, interactive literary maps as a research tool)
- Dissemination of information in the literary studies community- Polish Studies Newsletter
- Popularization of knowledge about literature, i.a. via multimedia monographs - New Panorama of Polish Literature
Digital Humanities Centre cooperates closely with three units of IBL PAN: Literary Research Infrastructure Laboratory (LIBL, IBL PAN Toruń branch), New Panorama of Polish Literature, and Department of Current Bibliography (IBL PAN Poznań branch).
